World Vision 40 Hour Famine
|
The World Vision 40 Hour Famine weekend is July 1st – July 3rd. This year the focus is on giving access to clean water to as many people as possible.
If your child (Year 5-10) is interested in completing a challenge over 20 or 40 hours (eg. no food, no screen time, no talking) to raise money for World Vision they can pick up a notice or booklet from Mr Littlejohn.
A notice has been handed out at school today to any Year 5-10 students who said they were interested.
The easiest way is to sign up online and use an online fundraising page (instructions are on the notice). Be sure to link to our Emmanuel Christian School page when signing up online.

The Christchurch School of Music (CSM) provides violin, viola and cello lessons at ECS through
their Outreach Strings Programme.
Lessons are held on Wednesdays during school time. There are group and individual lessons
available and students also participate in an ensemble where they have the opportunity to play
together. CSM also organises several concerts each year.
We have more information and Enrolment forms at the School Office so please pop in to
pick those up if you are interested in your child taking strings lessons.
Or you may enrol online via the CSM website www.csm.org.nz/

The Fundraising Committee is looking for suggestions on ways to help raise funds for our
school. Perhaps you own or work for a business that donates to organisations/schools or
supports fundraising in some way?
If you have any ideas or suggestions we would love to hear from you!
Equally we would love help when we run our fundraising events, particularly sausage sizzles
which we try to run once each term. If you (or a grandparent) would like to help from time to
time please email louise@emmanuelchristian.school.nz

If your child is playing in a winter sport team (soccer, hockey, netball), the winter sports comptetition starts next week. Please ensure your child has a mouthguard, shin pads and sport socks (if required).
The Office has now sold out of Sport Socks (soccer, hockey) so if you were needing a pair you’ll need to look at Rebel Sport for a similar navy blue sport sock.
