This week is Sāmoan language week and we’ve had the privilege of having some amazing seniors who’d planned a string of fun activities for us to do throughout the week.
Our junior school ākonga were taught a Sāmoan phrase each day and we thoroughly enjoyed listening to “The Hungry Caterpillar” in Sāmoan.
We learnt lots about Sāmoan culture and had fun singing songs in Sāmoan.
It’s so beautiful to see our Sāmoan ākonga coming to school dressed in their heritage clothes.
What better way to end the week than with a celebration… we danced away to Sāmoan music at lunchtime today.
We can’t wait to find out who the winners are for the Sāmoan artwork competition.
