Behind the Screens – Parent Information Night
|
Thurday 16th June
7:30pm
Venue: School Hall
We are pleased to be able to invite parents to a presentation ‘Behind the Screens’
This is presented by ‘Attitude’ who have been working with schools and parents to support young people over the last 25 years. This is a great chance to further your understanding of how you can support your child as they navigate the use of technology.
“How whānau can help their young people navigate the adolescent years in a rapidly changing world. If you are concerned with the impact of technology, social media, gaming and their safety online then this presentation will give you the tools and insights you need to confidently raise happy and resilient children covers four topics including screen time, gaming, social media and internet safety.”

The Christchurch School of Music (CSM) provides violin, viola and cello lessons at ECS through their Outreach Strings Programme. Lessons are held on Wednesdays during school time. There are group and individual lessons available and students also participate in an ensemble where they have the opportunity to play together. CSM also organises several concerts each year.
We have more information and Enrolment forms at the School Office so please pop in to pick those up if you are interested in your child taking strings lessons. Or you may enrol online via the CSM website www.csm.org.nz/

Can you help with Fundraising?
|
The Fundraising Committee is looking for suggestions on ways to help raise funds for our school. Perhaps you own or work for a business that donates to organisations/schools or supports fundraising in some way? If you have any ideas or suggestions we would love to hear from you!
Equally we would love help when we run our fundraising events, particularly sausage sizzles which we try to run once each term. Even an hour of your time is a big help. If you (or a grandparent) would like to help from time to time please email: louise@emmanuelchristian.school.nz
We raised $300 from the Verkerks sample fundraiser in Term 1 with the funds going towards musical instruments. Mrs Langford purchased a class set of xylophones.
