Kia ora Parents and Caregivers,
We are really looking forward to seeing students and whānau back on site tomorrow. Over the last two days it has been great to gather as a staff and along with other preparation spend time in worship and prayer together as we look to the year ahead.
What follows is information with regards to:
- First Day for 2023
- Meet the teacher BBQ
- Important Dates over next few weeks
- Allergies at school (Nuts and Kiwifruit)

First Day Information – Wednesday 1st February
|
The first day for pupils is Wednesday 1st February. This is a regular timetabled day with classes starting at 8:50 and finishing at 2:45. At the start of the day we will have a Mihi Whakatau to welcome our new families and staff.
When students arrive they should go to their classroom, where they will be welcomed by their teacher before we head to the Mihi Whakatau at 9:10am.

At 9:05am we will have a Mihi Whakatau to welcome our new pupils, families and staff. This will be held on the court area outside the Year 1-4 classrooms. All parents are welcome to attend this event, we would particularly like to invite any parents new to Emmanuel Christian School to join us and be welcomed into our school community.
At the end of this event students will return to class and any parents present will be welcome to come to the staffroom for a Tea or Coffee together.

Come along for a chance to meet the teacher of your son or daughter’s classes and spend some time together as a school community. We will have the BBQ running with sausages to eat from 4:00pm.
Each class has a time when the Teacher(s) will introduce themselves and talk to parents about the year ahead. These occur at times spread out during the afternoon.

Monday 6th Feb: Waitangi Day Holiday – School Closed
Thursday 9th Feb: Meet the teacher event
Friday 10th Feb: Year 5-10 Swimming Sports
Friday 17th Feb: House Tabloid Sports (this involves all students)

We are aware of a number of students at school with significant allergies and would request your help as we look to ensure we provide a save environment for them. When you are providing lunch and morning tea for your children can we please ask that you avoid including the following foods:
1) Nuts and in particular peanuts or peanut based products
2) Kiwifruit
